Ruger 10-22 Stocks
Note: This page is an archive page from the old site. Some of the info and links may be out of date.
This is probably what sets the 10/22 apart from other .22 semi-auto rifles. You can go from mild to wild with bolt on ease. Traditional shooters my be content either upgrading to a synthetic or fancy laminated stock along the lines of the factory unit. However in my opinion the fun starts when you select a thumbhole or a competition oriented stock. Additionally there’s hardware to turn your 10/22 into a bullpup or something resembling an AR-15. Easy justification for owning more then one of these fine rifles. Below you’ll see some a random sampling from the inexpensive Hogue to the top of the line Bell & Carlson or FA Enterprises. If your interested in getting a 10/22 for a youth there is also a suitable stock for that purpose. Lastly before you head out and spend more on a stock then the guns purchase price be sure to see if one of Ruger’s 34 models doesn’t already suit your needs. Of course where’s the fun in that.
One thing to keep in mind when picking a new stock. Know the dimensions of your barrel or the barrel you intend to use so your sure to get one that fits properly. A standard barrel will look silly in a stock meant for a heavy barrel.

Ruger Precision Rifle
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) Combatrifle.com is excited to announce the introduction of the Ruger Precision Rifle™. An all-new, in-line recoil path, bolt-action rifle, the Ruger Precision Rifle is highly configurable and offers outstanding accuracy and long-range capability. In production now, the Ruger Precision Rifle is available in .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, and .243 Win.
“Whether shooting tight groups at 100 yards, or reaching out to steel plates at 1,000 yards or beyond, shooting the Ruger Precision Rifle is a highly satisfying experience,” said Mike Fifer, Ruger CEO. “The engineering applied to the action of the Ruger American Rifle® brings world-class performance to Ruger long-range marksmanship.”
The Ruger Precision Rifle incorporates an in-line recoil path directly from the rear of the receiver to the buttstock, eliminating the need for traditional bedding or a “chassis” system, and provides maximum accuracy potential by simplifying the rifle’s response to recoil. The Ruger® Precision MSR stock is adjustable for length of pull and comb height, offering a proper fit over a wide range of shooter sizes, outerwear, and shooting positions. While easily adjusted, the length of pull and comb height changes lock solidly in place and will not move while firing. The stock also features multiple QD sling attachment points, a bottom Picatinny rail for monopod attachment, and a soft rubber buttpad. The left-folding stock hinge (which provides access to the bolt) is attached to an AR-style buffer tube and accepts AR-style stocks.
The Ruger Precision Rifle features a Multi-Magazine Interface, a patent-pending system that functions interchangeably with side-latching M110/SR25/DPMS/Magpul® magazines and front-latching AI-style magazines. Two, 10-round Magpul PMAG® magazines are shipped with each rifle.
The highly accurate, free-floated barrel is cold hammer-forged from 4140 chrome-moly steel, and features 5R rifling for minimum bullet upset. The rifle is specified with minimum bore and groove dimensions, minimum headspace, and a centralized chamber. The medium contour (.75″ at the muzzle) barrel features a thread protector over the 5/8″-24 threads, which allow for the fitment of muzzle accessories such as sound suppressors. Barrels can be replaced easily by a competent gunsmith using AR-style wrenches and headspace gauges.
The Ruger Precision Rifle’s “upper” receiver and one-piece bolt are precision CNC-machined from pre-hardened 4140 chrome-moly steel to minimize distortion. The three-lug bolt with 70-degree throw is easily manipulated and features dual cocking cams, and a smooth-running, full-diameter bolt body. An oversized bolt handle is fitted for positive bolt manipulation and features 5/16″- 24 threads for easy customization. The “lower” receiver is precision CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging and is Type III hard-coat anodized for maximum durability. The magazine well front is contoured for a positive grip for bracing against shooting supports. The rifle also sports a 20-MOA Picatinny rail secured with four, #8-40 screws for increased long-range elevation capabilities.
The Ruger Precision Rifle can easily be configured with AR-style grips, safety selectors, and handguards. The rifle is equipped with a Ruger extended trigger-reach AR-style grip, a left-side, 45-degree safety selector, and a Samson Evolution Keymod handguard. A short section of Picatinny rail is provided with the rifle for the fitment of accessories such as a bipod, and a QD sling cup also is included.
The Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger provides a crisp let-off and is externally adjustable with a pull weight range of 2.25 to 5.0 pounds. The hex wrench for the pull weight adjustment provided with the rifle is stored in the bolt shroud, as is a bolt disassembly tool for accessing the striker and striker channel.
The Ruger Precision Rifle is available in three models: .308 Win. with 1:10 twist, 20″ barrel weighing, 9.7 lbs.; 6.5 Creedmoor with a 1:8 twist, 24″ barrel, weighing 10.6 pounds; and .243 Win. with a 1:7.7 twist, 26″ barrel, weighing 11.0 pounds.

Ruger SR-556
The new Ruger® SR-556 auto loading rifle is an innovative two-stage piston driven rifle. The SR-556 offers Ruger’s reliable ruggedness, redefining the AR platform with piston driven performance. The piston driven SR-556 runs cleaner, cooler, and is easier to maintain than gas driven rifles, offering significantly improved reliability.
The patent pending two-stage piston driven operating system in the Ruger SR-556 provides a smooth power delivery stroke to the action and vents combustion residue out of the bottom of the gas block. The four-position adjustable gas regulator allows the operator to tune the rifle to specific ammunition and rifle conditions, minimizing recoil and maximizing reliability and long-term endurance. Reliability is further enhanced by a one-piece bolt carrier with an integral transfer key.
Designed for long-lasting accuracy, the heavy contour, 16-1/8” chrome lined barrel is cold hammer forged from Mil-Spec 41V45 Chrome-Moly-Vanadium Steel. The barrel has a 1:9 twist rate and is capped with an AC-556 flash suppressor. Chambered in 5.56mm NATO, the Ruger SR-556 also fires .223 Rem. ammunition.
A one-piece, ten-inch Troy Industries Quad Rail Handguard provides ample room for mounting sights, optics and accessories. Made exclusively for Ruger, this SR-556-specific handguard is pinned to the upper receiver and provides a rigid mount for the piston driven transfer rod. The SR-556 is equipped with Troy Industries Folding BattleSights™. These rugged, high-quality sights co-witness with Mil-Spec optics, and are easily removed or replaced. The sights can be folded down with the push of a button, or quickly flipped up with your thumbs. The windage adjustable rear sight includes an instantly converted short and long range aperture, and the protected front sight is elevation adjustable.
The Ruger SR-556 is equipped with a six-position telescoping M4-style buttstock that houses a Mil-Spec buffer and spring. A Hogue® Monogrip® pistol grip and three Troy Industries Rail Covers provide a comfortable ergonomic hold when carrying or shooting. Durability and performance of the SR-556 is enhanced with the use of high-performance finishes: The barrel and gas block are chrome lined, while the bolt, bolt carrier, and extractor are chrome plated. The piston driven transfer rod is electroless nickel/Teflon coated. The flash hider and the exterior of the barrel, gas block, and regulator are manganese phosphate coated. All aluminum parts are Mil-Spec hard coat anodized.
The SR-556 is supplied with three, thirty-round Magpul PMAG™ magazines. These lightweight magazines feature a storage/dust cover, a stainless steel spring, and a self-lubricating, anti-tilt follower. The flat top upper receiver and barrel assembly is specific to the Ruger SR-556. The standard lower receiver is built with Mil-Spec components, including a single stage trigger. The lower receiver is compatible with AR-style magazines, grips, buttstock’s, and fire control components. The 7 lb., 15 oz.
